My name is Christopher Doerr and I compete in track and field for Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo,CA. My events include, but are not limited to, pole vault, 300MH, and the 4x400MR.
As a young child I was always involved with sports as much as I was with academics. I pushed myself every day in the classroom and in my sport, and continue to do so. I competed as a trampoline and tumbling gymnast for 8 years. I rose to the junior elite level and had the opportunity to compete in Russia and England with the USA Gymnastics World Age Group teams. I maintain my academic studies as an athlete and have continued to stay at or above a 4.00 GPA. Upon entering High School I discovered pole vaulting and fell in love with the sport. My freshman year I broke our school's freshman record in the pole vault at 13'0". The following year, as a sophomore, I broke Trabuco Hills High School's pole vault record at 15'3" and made it to CIF Masters D1. As a junior, I was selected to be a captain of the track and field team. I reached a PR of 15'6 with a pulled hamstring. This year as a Senior I aspire to attain a PR well over 16'. I believe with my academics, confidence, and leadership as a captain, I would be an excellent candidate for any college track and field team.
