Over the course of several years I have developed a deep love for the sport. I know how much work this sport takes both mentally and physically. This hard work that I endure on a daily basis through training serves as my motivation during competitions, along with the fact that I know 6 of my teammates are counting on me to perform to my best ability. Nothing in this sport is guaranteed; all accomplishments are earned through undying dedication to the sport. Through working hard every day and staying dedicated to my sport, I plan to make an impact on the school for which I run after high school.
My freshman year in high school I earned the "Fearsome Freshman Award" (Cross Country) by being one of the top performers in my class. The following year I came in Seventh in my Varsity race at the Woodbridge Invitational. That same year I was on our CIF cross country team and earned my Varsity letter. Using the momentum I gained from my exuberant times earned during my sophomore year track season, I came into my Junior Cross Country season with a huge preseason performance. At the annual Alumni Race I finished 3rd overall and helped make school history by helping our team of current athletes beat the alumni for the first time in school history. I also aided our team in our efforts in the postseason. My junior track season I led our team to a state-leading DMR time, became our League's 800m Champion and was a CIF Finalist. I am now in my senior Cross Country season and am looking to breaks some huge barriers and run under a 14:30 three mile. Our team is also looking very strong and we are all working to win state and not only qualify but come in top 3 at Nike Cross Nationals.
