I want to go to a college where I can participate in shot put, discus, and football. I always give 100% effort and push the people around me to work harder. Not only do I want to be the best but, I want to compete with the best. For that reason, I help everyone to do better even my competitors. I genuinely care about the people and programs I am involved with. I got an injury that ended my football season prior to the first game, but I continue to show up to practice everyday and do everything I can to help my team, I even keep track of their stats during the games. I lose my voice after every game because I spend the entire game cheering my teammates on, even while I am playing, and if the guys need some inspiration I’ve been known to give a speech or two during halftime.
My little brother is into track as well; I go to his track meets and help him and his teammates with their technique. I would like to get a degree in kinesiology and exercise science so that I can be a coach; I want to coach because I want to inspire the same work ethic and passion [for track, weight lifting, and football] that I have. By the middle of my junior year I weighed 160 lbs and was able to clean 305 lbs, bench press 260 lbs, and squat 375 lbs totaling 5.875 times my body weight.
I take AP and honors courses and have already passed my first AP test. I am a member of the Nation Society of High School Scholars, have a cumulative 4.0 G.P.A. and I am in the top 4% of my class. I want to go to a college that has high standards for education. I want to actually learn about what I am studying, from professors who are experts in their fields who can, and will teach me everything I want and/or need to know about their subject.
