  • I was very fortunate I got to spend my 15th birthday representing my province at nationals. My first year of actual track competition saw many highs and very few lows. During this year I had won 12 gold medals 10 silver medals and 7 bronze. I was dedicated, focused everything lead to this weekend of August 11. Unfortunately this is when one of my lows came into play. Nearly two months before nationals I was injured on the soccer field which is my secondary sport, when I collided with a player on the opposing team 20lbs heavier then me. Causing a debilitating hip injury which extremely limited my training abilities leading up to nationals. I was still suffering from this injury at nationals but gave it all I had. Unfortunately all I had wasn't enough to make the podium in my main events. I took 8th in the 100 and 200m and podiumed with my team mates for the medley relay taking silver. After nationals I did the proper rest for recovery and am now focused , committed and determined to make it back to nationals for 2018 and show my country that I am for real.
  • Camp/Event
  • Caltaf national qualifier
  • 6/16/17 to 6/18/17
  • Caltaf was the national qualifier for Canadian legion youth nationals. I had an amazing showing over the weekend and secured myself a spot on the Alberta team for national championships. My event stats are as follows 100m -11.39 gold medal. 200m- 23.57 gold medal. Long jump-5.98 silver medal. I was only 14 at the time and had only started training in track 6 mths prior.
  • Camp/Event
  • Alberta indoor track and field provincial championships
  • 3/03/17 to 3/05/17
  • took the provincial gold medal in the 60m dash and provincial bronze medal in long jump I now hold the fastest time set in Alberta for the 60m dash indoor 2017 season for midgets

Training

  • speed, conditioning, Strength, Technique
  • 1 year
  • I have been training for 2 months, my speed is on par where I think it should be at this point in my training, however my technique needs some improvement at the moment. My conditioning is above average and my strength I feel is years above my peers.
