Austin Blakley '20 Recruiting Profile

Sports has always been a big part of my life.  I have played football since I was 7 years old and basketball since I was 10 years old. When I was 8 years old I lost my father and sports was an outlet for me to cope with my loss. It brought comfort being around my teammates and having my family there to cheer me on during my games.  Sports has given so much to me so when I step on the field or the court I give it my all and more. Because of me playing sports I have learned there is no room for excuses on the field and in the classroom. One of the obstacles that I face is my height. I never want to be viewed as a player that is on a team because I am 6’4 in height. I want to show that I am a valuable player that has a lot to offer to my team and school. I have played many positions in football on the offense and defense. I have been to many championship games and have been recognized as an All county player for football. I have also been named All-County player for basketball for the last two years and helped win the county championship game for 2017.
