Personal Statement

Hello there,

My name is Garrett Grewal and I have been playing tennis for roughly 6 years now. I first started playing competitive tennis when I was around 10 years old and excelled in both the state and sectional rankings. I have reached an all time high of 9 in the state and top 100 in the Southern region when I was in the 12's. I continue this excellence off the court in the classroom. I am a straight A student 4 Honors classes as well as 2 AP classes. I have proven to be a leader on and off the court in everything that I do. I have always had the dream of playing collegiate tennis and I certainly have what it takes to play at that level. I am a well rounded individual in all areas who is willing to compete and lead at the collegiate level. My work ethic and skill is definitely worthy of the college level.

AwardsI made Head's List both semesters during my freshmen year and first semester of my sophomore year which means that I had over a 90% average in all of my classes.
ActivitiesI am currently part of the Greensboro Day School Science Olympiad Team. I recently placed 1st and 3rd in two events at the regional competition and I will be representing my school in the state competition which will take place in April. I am served my freshman year as one of the 2 freshmen on the Honor Board at my school. During December of my Sophomore year, I traveled to Anaheim, California to attend the Student Diversity Leadership Conference/People of Color Conference where I grew much as an individual and learned a lot about myself and others. I was the only sophomore from my school to attend along with 4 other Juniors.
