Let me introduce myself. My name is Richard Bennett, and I will be 18 on October 18th. I was born in Orlando, Florida and began playing tennis there. My family and I then moved to a small town in the state of Washington, called Issaquah. Issaquah is approximatly 17 miles outside of Seattle. I went to Issaquah Valley Elementary, Issaquah Middle School, and my freshman year was spent at Issaquah High School. It was in high school in Washington that I made the Varsity Tennis Team and became the #2 singles player. I was also fortunate enough to have regular coaching sessions at both the Sammamish Club and Robinswood Tennis Club, in Bellevue, Washington. I also received private coaching during my middle school and freshman years, and competed in over 100 USTA tournaments in the Pacific NW, and California, beginning in the 5th grade.
My family and I moved back East in 2012 and live in Mamaroneck, NY, but I am able to go to Scarsdale High School. In my first year at Scarsdale High School I made the Varsity tennis team, playing 3rd singles and 1st doubles. I am on the team now and we begin our season in March. From the time that I moved back East, I have been able to spend two summers training at IMG Sports Academy with Nick Bollettieri and his coaches. My main training and coaching is at Proform Academy in Rye Brook, NY with Pablo Bellagambo. I train there 4 days a week, 3 hours a day. I have participated in over 60 USTA tournaments in the Eastern Division.
I consider these last two years and the two that are coming up as a preamble to entering the college world as a potential candidate for a career that will ultimately take me to Wimbledon. Obviously my college situation comes first, and I am currently exploring over 25 D1 and D2 colleges. I am fortunate because my entire family is extremely supportive of my dream, and I look forward to working as hard as I can athletically, and at the same time to be able to maintain superior academic grades, so that it will be possible for me to get into the college of my choice.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
