I love to compete in tennis. I started playing in 6th grade after moving back to the states from Florence, Italy. I immersed myself in the sport, training with my private coach year round, attending camps, competing in USTA and local tournaments. After much hard work I passed the NYS Presidents Fitness test and made the High school team in 7th grade. Fitness and unrelenting defense are two of my biggest strengths. My hard work and determination paid off and I took the #1 spot in 8th grade, where I have stayed. This past season I advanced to the NYSPHSAA Tennis Tournament which is held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows. I will continue to get better and will improve my showing in States Senior year.
I have been a motivator and leader on the court. To strengthen my High School team I recruited other athletes and friends from different sports and encouraged and taught them to play tennis. I am an individual but a team player. I can be a great fit to any team because of my ability to run down every ball and always give my full effort during and long match or practice session.
In the classroom, I am smart but a very hard worker. I always try to do my best in every subject. On the court, I always try to do my best.
I am looking to find the right academic fit and the right coach and tennis program at college. I want to be challenged mentally and physically and wish to jump my tennis game through hard work, skilled coaching and a great team. My goal is to be a key player on a collegiate team competing for league titles.
