Matthew Garvin '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Garvin, and I am from Lisle, Illinois. I am a 6'1" junior at Benet Academy, and I played fourth doubles on the varsity team as a sophomore last year. I have a 96 average and I am an active member of the National Honor Society. I am very diligent and determined both as an athlete and as an individual who doesn't take shortcuts.

I am looking for a medium sized university with a very active, receptive, and friendly student body composed of a healthy mix of interesting people. Geographically I don't have much of a preference, and I would consider schools from any area. I am primarily looking at divison three schools with strong academics, but I am not opposed to checking out schools from the other divisions. I would like to play a starting position on the team as a freshman and make a positive impact on the program. In playing college tennis I am looking for a good balance between athletics, academics, and everything else that comes along with a healthy college experience.
