I am an Italian student-athlete who has lived in different countries across Europe, Asia and America, due to my father’s work. Switzerland was the last country where I lived before moving to the US, where I reached top 20 of my section (Boys 16s), and where I won about ten regional and sectional tournaments.
My dream has always been to play College tennis at a competitive university that offers reputable academic programs. I am a well rounded student-athlete and I believe that I can contribute positively to any school because the international experience that I gained from having lived in different countries/continents has made me more adaptable, receptive, resilient (because of the extra effort required to constantly adapt quickly to changes and new situations), and a strong team player who is able to communicate in five different languages (Italian, Spanish, English, German and French).
I wish that we would have moved to the US earlier, so I would have had more time to build up my US tennis ranking. This is only my first year in Southern California, so I only had a few months to play tournaments with which to build a US ranking. Nevertheless, my coach and I feel that my game matches up to most of the highly ranked players' of my age group. Attached is a video where you can watch my tennis game.
As a dedicated student and a competitive athlete, I am committed to put all my effort and passion into maximizing my full potential in everything I do, in order to become the best student, the best athlete and the best person I can be.
