Kyle Reynolds '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kyle Reynolds and currently I’m a freshman at Santa Rosa Junior College in Northern California.  I've played #2 and #3 singles as well as #1 and #2 doubles. As of April 18, 2012 my singles record is 13-6 and my doubles record is 9-8 with two partners. I've qualified for the Nor Cal Junior College tournament in both singles and doubles and was named All Conference at the 2012 Big Eight Conference Championship Tournament. One of my biggest wins this season was against the #3 singles player for Fresno City College.  Fresno City College is a top ranked team in Northern California. I finished this last year with a national ita ranking of 66th in singles and 27th in doubles.

In high school I played basketball and tennis.  I was captain of both my tennis and basketball teams’ won coaches awards, took all league in tennis and competed in both sports at the NCS level.   Now that I have been able to devote 100% to tennis my game has improved dramatically.  I’m 6’4 about 165; I play tennis every day, run 3 miles, and work out with weights twice a week.  In addition to working out with the team I coach privately with Darrin Cohen.  Darrin played 4 years at University of Virginia winning several titles and awards.  He has been instrumental in taking my game to the next level.

My goals are to transfer to a four year college preferably in California and compete at the highest level possible.  I would like to study sports or recreation management and become a teaching pro, tennis director or athletic director.   My grades have improved this semester and I plan to end the semester with a 3.0 or higher.  I have a strong work ethic and leadership skills.  During the summer I teach tennis with Darrin Cohen at Diamond Hills Sports Club in Oakley California.  I enjoy working with the kids, have a good sense of humor, and like to keep active.
