Robert Hodous '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rob Hodous and my number one goal is to play college tennis on a team that I can significantly impact. I started playing tennis when I was 12 so I started pretty late, but that's actually good because I have always been considered a late bloomer. I also have no signs of burn out as do some players my age that have been playing since they were 5 or 6! I believe I'm just starting to hit a huge jump in my tennis game and that my best tennis is yet to come. I have been playing tennis competitively since I was 14 and every day I try to get in at least 3 to 5 hours of tennis and/or conditioning. This past summer I've worked primarily on my footwork and getting in shape along with my serve. I worked with a personal trainer 3 times a week, in addition to my tennis academy which went from 10 to 4 daily. I can hit my serve in around 120 and I believe I can add about 5-7 more on to that number. I'm 5'10"s and 175 pounds so I'm not a small guy but I'm strong and quick. I'm a great doubles player, because of my big serve and quick hands. I am able to serve and volley and take control of points. I've played in the number one position for my high school team all 4 years and I've gone to the Conference Playoffs all 4 years. I am a leader for my team and I am the driving power behind it. Last year I was the 7A-West Conference Champion and the runner up for the Class 7A State Championship. I plan on being the State Champion this year. I also earned the title of All-Northwest Arkansas Boys Singles Player of the Year. I know high school tennis doesn't matter much but it has been a good place for me to be a role model and develop leadership skills. I am looking for a school with a solid tennis program where I can play and be a contributing member of the team. I would prefer a school with over 5,000 students and a business program. I know one thing any coach that has ever worked with me would say is that I am a hard worker and I give 100%. I do work extremely hard and try to meet and exceed any standard that's set for me. I am looking for any opportunity and would love to talk to any coach interested in hearing more from me.
