Liam Schroeder '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Liam Schroeder and I have been swimming since I was six years old.  I am currently in 12th grade at Coatesville Area Senior High.  I am a member of both the highschool team and the local YMCA team(Brandywine Coatesville YMCA).  I am going into my fourth years as varsity swimmer at Coatesville and have been on the National team on my YMCA team for 4 years now.  In my high school career, I have qualified for districts in the 500 freshman and sophmore year. I qualified in the 500 and the 200 my Junior year. Alsolast season, my junior year, my High School swim team won the National Title, I won both the 500 and 200 free at this meet as well as my 400 free relay.  For the YMCA, I have qualified for both districts and states since I was nine and qualified for YMCA Nationals the summer after my freshman year.  In school, I am an AP and Honors student with good grades in both.  I hope to major in a field relating to Physical Sciences- Sports medicine, Physical Therapy and Personal Training .  In the pool, I am mainly a distance swimmer but can sprint as well.  My best events would have to be the 500 and 200 free and the 400 IM. I also swim the 200 Fly, 800, and 1500 freestyle at our long course meets.  I work hard in practice and like to challenge and pace myself in longer distance sets.  I would not consider myself as a verbal leader; I prefer to lead with actions rather than words. My high school team had gone 11-1 my Freshman and Sophmore years, finally being undefeated my Junior season, winning the National title.  I love being a part of a team and competing as as a team especially in those big meets. I am also the oldest of 6 children which in itself helps create a leader, and helped me learn about responsibility, compassion,and working with others.   I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you consider me as a potential asset to your program.
