Personal Statement

I began my swimming career at the age of 8 with the influence of my two older sisters, who also swam competitively in club and high school. My oldest sister swam at the collegiate level for four years. I see myself in collegiate swimming not only because I have a passion for the sport, but I enjoy challenging myself and love to race against other swimmers. I am a very dedicated and hard-working individual when it comes to the acitivities I have a passion for.
I work hard in the classroom, maintaining a high GPA and take my schoolwork very seriously. I have volunteered at various places, such as food shelters and churches.
Swimming on a club team for nine years and swimming for my high school team for three years has developed my team bonding and leadership skills as a teammate.  I am interested in pursuing a degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
I see collegiate level swimming as a once in a lifetime opportunity to swim another four years at a higher level in swimming. I enjoy the team camaraderie that comes with the sport and helping me grow as an individual. I plan to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.  I enjoy creating things using technology and understanding how things are put together and work.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
