Kyle Smith '11 Recruiting Profile

I started participating in the sport of swimming at the age of 11 1/2 after being very successful at soccer. I enjoyed swimming so much that I decided to give all of my athletic attention to that sport. I now am a 1 sport athlete, and swim year round. I am in the weight room, and practice twice a day during the high school season as well as during the summer long course season. I am 6' and weigh 175 lbs. I swim for the Town of Tonawanda Titans Swim Club. I joined the Titans at age 15. I have made the NYS Public Hgh School Championships both Soph and Junior years, and I expect to place in the top 8 for the 100 yd Butterfly in my Senior year. I received the most Versatile Swimmer for my club during the 2009 club season. I have qualified for Speedo Sectionals (both Super Sectionals as well as Sectionals) for the past 2 years, both summer and spring. Spring 2010, I swam at the Jr Nationals held in Orlando, Florida. It is my dream and my goal to swim for my college. I would love to swim for a large school, and I also desire to pursue Sciences and/or PreMed as a major. My realistic goals are to find a school that I can travel and swim with beginning as a Freshman and to definately have an impact on the team. My ultimate goals are to make the NCAA's and to one day, qualify for the Olympic Trials!
