Swimming is one of the biggest part of my life. My oldest brother, Chris was my first coach. He taught me how to swim and how to actually do all the strokes. Swimming has been a big part in my family. My mom and dad met through life guarding at the pool. When I was little I used to watch my brother practice and I always wanted to get in the water and swim with him. I have leaned through swimming that not every single thing in life is going to go your way. Through high school, I want to graduate with at least a 3.5 GPA. Through college, I want to acquire my bachelors degree and swim on a college swim team. I have navigated through many obstacles throughout my career in swimming. First, I moved from New Jersey to Texas when I was 9 years old. That was a big change for my whole life, including a big change for swimming. A whole new team and coaching situation was a lot to handle, but it really helped my excel in my swimming and make me an elite swimmer. Another obstacle that came my way after completing my freshman year in high school was moving all the way back to Delaware. A new coach again and a new team has a lot of stress but adapting to your situation is always key to succeeding. I am a very natural learner. I can look at something once and know it. I also am a very visual learner, so if I can see someone do a drill or a stroke I can follow and repeat the same thing. I am committed to working and improving my swimming so that I am in the best position to compete at the next level.
