Swimming has taught me how to work hard and to overcome difficulties. Being on a team with teammates who strive to improve and coaches who are able to help us improve has made me into the athlete I am today. At Suffield Academy, I was given many opportunities to train. Our coaches offered morning swim practices and morning lifts throughout the year. I always took advantage of these training sessions and hoped to drop some time in my events. I was able to see my times drop gradually as the season went by and realized that my hard work had paid off when my 200 freestyle relay team earned an automatic All-American title and ranked 21st in the country.
