Growing up in my small town I have learned to appreciate and have dedication in everything I do. I grew up with big dreams, but wanting to put forth all work possible to achieve these goals. When my sister first joined the swim team in 2006 I wanted to be just like her so the following year I followed in her footsteps. My sister and family have played a huge roll in my life, they have always been there to support me.
Through out all my years of swimming I learned that I am always going to give each practice or race all the effort I have. I learned that working hard is the only way to get faster, there is no short cut to getting faster. I will have the same mind set going wanting to bring my academics and athletics to the collegiate level. Growing up in a town which swimming is not a huge sport I never got the training I need to become successful. I was limited on where I am able to train and how many yards I am able to swim each practice due to my teams schedule. When I go to collegiate swimming I will be able to improve tremendously because I'll be able to swim more yards with better technique and have more overall training. Because of swimming I have found who I truly am. I became a stronger leader and will be able to serve my team as a captain. I am a dedicated hard worker with loads of potential and talent ready to bring take my academics and athletics to the next level.
