Joshua Picard '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello on-looking coaches. My name is Joshua Picard. I have currently entered the 9th grade at Paso Robles High School. I have been swimming for the past 4 (+,-) years. I started off swimming with the Aquacats, which was also a swim team in Paso Robles, but in my mid years with the team both my coach Spencer and my "new" Coach Jennifer Brown decided to merge the two teams together. Since that point I have been on the verge of Senior group and Age Group, which as a result, made another "group". I have just recently been put onto Senior Group, although I could have transferred sooner. I have been to two of Coach Salo's Summer Swim Camps and USC, which have improved my strokes drastically (Thank you!) 

My goal in life as a career is to be an Olympic Swimmer and an Engineer. I have a very strong Math and Science background and have excelled in both subjects. My preferred engineering would be either aerospace or mechanical. English is not my favorite subject, but I do sometimes enjoy writing or reading a good book. History... best not to go there, but all of my grades have been A's since 4th grade. 

I am really committed to swimming, as well are my parents. We live 30 minuets from the pool, so it is quite a drive, and an early get up for morning swim! I try to attend all practices possible, which is currently 5 days a week and 1 weight training class.
