Hello! My name is Jackson Klarsfeld. I am 17 years old from Pacific Grove, California. My plan after high school is to get a degree in film/media production so that I can pursue my passion of movie-making and, more specifically, film editing. I actually edited the video on my profile page myself. I hope to join the ACE (American Cinema Editors) one day. I have been swimming competitively for about 12 years now, and I am hoping to continue throughout my college career. As a freshman in high school I was the only swimmer on my team to qualify for CCS. I did so in the 100 breast and 200 IM. Soon after, I ran into a problem...I grew 5 inches between freshman and sophomore swim seasons. I was forced to change all my strokes, and my times took a serious dive from the previous year. I didn't get any best times that year, let alone qualify for CCS. In an attempt to make up for sophomore year's crash, I decided Junior year to qualify for CCS in every single event. I figured out my strokes again, and I am still learning how to use my length (I'm 6'4") to it's full potential. The work has been paying off, for I recently qualified for Sectionals in the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 free. I have also participated in several open water events. For example, I have swam Tri California's Alcatraz Challenge every year since I was nine. Last time I did it I came in second place overall. I have also won the Bruckner-Chase challenge two years in a row. The Bruckner-Chase challenge is part of our local open water ocean event, the Monterey Beachfest. It consists of a 2.5 mile swim, a 1 mile swim, and a half-mile swim all in the same morning. I am the only person to have ever won any of the swim events, as the Beachfest just began in 2014. I am very passionate about both my film and swim careers, and I have high hopes for my potential in the future.
