Personal Statement

hello coach,

My name is Jack Chandler, I graduated from Layton Christian Academy in May of 2014, I'm currently 19 years old and I've been playing soccer for 14 years of my life. I currently live in Ogden, Utah and have been there my whole life. Growing up I played with AC Ogden (2005-2009. Striker), La Roca (2013-2014. guest playing but was there for rather sweeper, wing, or but main use is a striker), Wasatch (2010-2012. Striker), Ogden FC (2000-2004. sweeper, or wing) I was captain on each team. Layton christian academy(2008-2014 Striker, and Sweeper) was my high school which i graduated from in May of 2014. While attending there, I participated in soccer, football, basketball, and track all four years. Soccer i was a starting varsity captain since freshman year (Honorable mention, and the worst we did all four years was quarterfinals in state), Football i started varsity all four years (honorable mention, offensive player of the year, and broke school record for most rushing yards in a game 293yrds.), basketball was JV games, and varsity practice, and ran track all years during soccer season as well. Ran in the 100m, (9th in state), 200m, high jump, (3rd in state), javelin, (top 12 in state) and 4x1 (first in state). La Roca Had me guest play with them in the National Presidents Cup in Florida in 2013, where we won 1st place, and i managed to score a goal. I've literally played every position on the field and am able to with any team.In middle school i was keeper on the team and got the golden glove award for "being stonewall Jackson" and saving the district game pk to win 2-1. With AC Ogden i managed to score at least 3 goals a game except one where i had 2, we went 8/3/2 in that season. We also was first in the park city tournament a couple times and 2nd in the Boise tournament. I have always started at some position on the field and never subbed out. Only 1 yellow card in my career and it was because i challenged the keeper and lost. Monday's I play on a coed team and we are currently 3/0/0 and i have 6 goals. This most recent Monday we won 3-0 I scored all 3, one was a header. At the end of theCo-ed league we finished first and we are the champs at 8/1/0 and i had 12 goals. But the reason I'm emailing you today is because I have what it takes to be an effective player for your team. I love the game of soccer with a passion and will always hold my character on and off the field. The time i spent out in Florida was amazing and a time i will never forget. Let me know if there is anything else i can get for you film, transcripts, test scores, or anything of that matter, and have a great day.
