Hello, I’m Cody Spitzer and I live in McKinney, Texas. I am up a year in school and will graduate in 2016. I am 16 years old and a junior at McKinney Boyd High school where I am in the Gifted and Talented (GT) program. The GT program is highly selective and academically rigorous. I take GT and AP classes and maintain a 3.8 GPA.
I am a strong midfielder both attacking and defending. I am however a very versatile player and can play forward and defense. I have a strong work rate and excellent endurance and this has served me well as a midfielder.
I am a passionate, disciplined, technical and tactically gifted soccer player and a strong academic student. My goal is to play for a college that will challenge me on and off the field.
I currently play for Dallas Texans U16 D1 team and Varsity for McKinney Boyd High School. I was selected for Dallas Texans USSF U16 team this past season, and due to my parents work/travel schedule and strong focus on school, I made the decision to play for the Dallas Texans U16 D1 team and continue to play Varsity for my high school.
Last season I played for the Dallas Texans Pre-Academy traveling team as well as Varsity for McKinney Boyd High School. I have had many significant accomplishments in soccer, including multiple league championships, two State Cup Championships, two Disney Soccer Showcase Championships, two Dallas Cup quarter-finals, a Gothia Cup and Helsinki Cup semi-finals where I was selected to play two years up on the team.
This past season, I helped McKinney Boyd Varsity 10-5A win Region and State championships. I tied as leading goal scorer and made First Team Selection Honors.
In addition, I have been a member of the North Texas ODP state team and the ODP Region III selected pool of players. As such I have had the opportunity to represent ODP in tournaments in North Carolina, California, Oklahoma, Dallas and Alabama.
Also, after a series of skills challenges, I was selected by Manchester United to represent my club, the Dallas Texans in the Manchester United World Skills final where I received forth in the World. I was also selected by Hassan Nazari, Founder and Executive Director of the Dallas Texans to train at Real Madrid this past August, 2013.
I am a strong leader on the field and a motivated and dedicated team player. I have been recognized by my coaches as creative and have held team captain roles on many of the teams I have been on, including my ODP team.
I have played soccer year round since I was four years old and have always played at high competitive levels in club, in high school and in ODP. I train regularly and have also played a lot of
3v3, futsal and small sided game.
