Stuart Close '15 Recruiting Profile

Representing Scotland on eleven occasions is an experience I will forever relish. Playing five international games as team captain and leading the team onto the field is something which for me, has no comparison. Though it may be one of many highlights in my time playing soccer, I know there is more to come.

As of July 2013, I have been playing with the Houston Dynamo Academy. Since securing my international clearance, I have started the last 20+ games, one of which was against the Houston Dynamo first team. In my short time at the Dynamo, I have established myself as one of the key figures in the team, and now hold a central defensive position.

In the two seasons previous to moving to Houston, I played at Aberdeen Football Club, featuring in the under 20’s squad at the age of 17. Playing and training with older and more experienced players helped me develop as a player and assisted in building my physical presence on the field as well as my mental approach to the game.

In the future, I aim to attend a university which will challenge both my academic and sporting abilities.
