My name is Tristan Weller and I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. As a young player, I began my soccer career playing striker. As I got older, I was given the opportunity to play other positions, too. For the last several seasons, I have realized my preferred soccer position is center back, but I revel in the rush I get when am asked to play striker. I am not limited to just playing these positions, as I have contributed to my team wherever needed. I am primarily right footed, but have a strong left, too. I am athletically built, and in the off-season, I weight lift and run. I am very good at distributing the ball, as well as being offensive minded. On the field, I communicate in a loud and positive way. I am a physical and technically rounded player, who can win balls in the air, yet still play quick technical soccer. I am never completely satisfied with how I played my last game and always strive to be better.
The people in my life who have influenced who I am today are my parents. My parents support me in everything I do and help me make wise decisions. My academic goals for high school are to keep my grades up and work hard in everything I do on and off the field. This work ethic will continue through college and for the rest of my life. My biggest hurdle to date was coming in to high school soccer my freshman year and shooting to make varsity as a freshman. It took a lot of hard work, but I achieved this goal. The following two years, I played right back and started for the varsity team.
I have learned a lot about myself through soccer. Each of the teams I have had the privilege to play for have built a soccer family, and I plan to bring that same approach and mindset to any team which I play for. Overall, I am a good student, good team player, and a good person, who loves the game.
