I am a senior at South Western High School in Hanover, Pa. I am the varsity goal keeper for our school team and one of 3 team captains. I have played varsity soccer for 4 years. I have the honor of being named as one of the 2nd team All-Area Players of the Year for both my junior and senior years. I also have exceeded the school record for most shutouts in 4 years and for this season. I was also chosen to play in the York-Adams county senior All-Star game this year.
My high school team finished our regular season on 10/10/13 with a record of 11-5-1. Our team then went on to the first round of county playoffs on 10/12/13 and lost a tough game to York Suburban, 1-0. After county playoffs, our team (ranked 17th in this district) got as far as the 2nd round of district playoffs. We won our first district playoff game against Elizabethtown (ranked 16th in our district) but lost to Cumberland Valley (ranked 1st in our district) in the 2nd round of district playoffs. Our high school team participates in an off-season summer soccer league each year as well as hosting a youth soccer camp in which the varsity players instruct the youth from our community. In the fall of 2012, my high school team won the YAIAA county championship which was the first time in our school's history.
I am also a starting goal keeper for my club team, FC York 95' Elite (PA East). I am proud to play for both teams. My club team is ranked 26 in Pennsylvania East. My club team won three tournaments last year: the President’s Day Cup tournament on February 17, 2013, Challenger Invitational on May 12, 2013 and the Lititz Showcase on July 28, 2013. My club team resumed play in November with our first tournament being the Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday, November 22, 2013 in Bethesda, Maryland. Due to the amount of snow this winter, the Snowflake tournament in December 2013 was cancelled and so was the President's Day Cup in February 2014. We played in the Annandale Premier Cup tournament this past weekend, March 7-9, 2014 against some very tough competition. The Baltimore Mania Tournament on March 22-23 was cancelled due to snow so our team made up Snowflake games instead which will qualify us for the State Cup in May. Our team also will be playing in the Potomac Tournament which takes place on Memorial Day weekend.
