Personal Statement

My goal right now is to continue my soccer career through college.  I want to be an integral part of a team and help to bring success through my play and my actions.  I love the sport and have committed myself to it throughout my school years.  I was voted Rookie Of The Year my Freshman year for the High School team, and I believe that was due not only to my physical ability, but also my leadership and dedication to the team.  I am a team player.  I know that I can't do it alone and my teammates are my family.  We win together, we lose together.  I am different than other potential recruits because of the way I see the game.  At a soccer camp this summer I was pulled aside by a coach from Frostburg State University  (Asst. Coach Kevin McCarthy) who told me that I had the "highest soccer IQ" out of anyone on the field.  He talked about the way I see the game better than others, can think quickly and make correct decisions.  My skills are good and always improving, as I am constantly working on them. On the field I am generally well composed and keep a level, clear head. I am always an advocate for my team and am respectful of my opponents. One characteristic that sets me apart from other players is my will to win. From the first seconds to the last, I am always looking towards a victorious result through constructive communication and being intelligent with and without the ball. In terms of athletics, I am a good runner and can maintain a solid pace through the duration of the run which I can combine with bursts of speed, agility, quickness and evasiveness.  I am generally not the biggest player on the feild but have adapted and excelled in playing with a style that suits me best.  Academically I am attentive, responsible and respectful. Acedemics is a priority of mine and is something I try to improve upon in the same manner as practicing on the pitch. I would be thrilled to be given an opportunity to play collegiate soccer and anxiously await the chance to discuss potential opportunities with a prospective coach.
