Hello, my name is Evan Bleiler and I live in Orefield, Pennsylvania. I am a Senior at Parkland High School, in Allentown Pennsylvania where I am an honor roll student. I am a varsity goalkeeper for our school team and we concluded a successful 2013 season by winning the Lehigh Valley Conference and District XI AAA Championships with a season record of 17-6-0. I had 12 shutouts this Varsity season, 5 of them being in post season championship games. October 2014 Update: Selected to Eastern Pennsylvania Conference All Star First Team - Goalkeeper. November 2014 Update: Selected as All-Area First Team Goalkeeper.
I am the starting keeper for Lehigh Valley United 96 Team where we compete in the EDP and Regional League. Our rankings currently are 3rd in Pennsylvania East and 31st in Region 1. In addition to my club team, I have been on the Eastern Pennsylvania Olympic Development Team for the last 4 consecutive years (2013, 2012, 2011, 2010). Our 2013 team won the Region 1 Championship and we competed in the National Championship in Phoenix, Arizona on Feb. 28, 2014 where we placed 3rd in the nation. I was selected as the sole goalie to represent our state ODP team in the Championship game. We unfortunately lost to Iowa in Penalty Kicks after being tied 1-1 through double overtime. I also had the honor of traveling with our ODP team to Manchester England in March 2013 to train and play against other British Academy teams. It was a distinct honor to be named captain of that team and our record was 2-2 after playing some very competitive teams.
My assets are my speed, quick decision making, leadership and technical abilities. I stay calm under pressure and am very vocal and display a confident presence in the box. I consistently hit the lead foot when I make my throws to my players. I display leadership and provide clear direction on the field to my teammates, which l believe leads to a successful defense. Besides field training with my team, I go to the gym on a regular basis to lift and I train with a professional goalkeeper coach on a weekly basis to refine and improve my skills. I am a licensed soccer referee with a Grade 8 license. I love to work with kids and I volunteer time coaching kids at our local soccer skills sessions.
Business and Marketing will be my major in college and I am looking for the school where I can thrive as a student and an athlete. I am looking to play soccer at a highly competitive level and where I can contribute early and feel part of a unified and successful team. I am confident that I can excel in any environment and develop myself better as an athlete, student and person.
