Skylar Shonkwiler '16 Recruiting Profile

I can play anywhere I am needed on the field. I have good ball distribution skills and I am very vocal on an off the pitch. For my high school team my leadership skills are what is most important to me. I lead on and off the field by example. Im always talking and telling who and where to mark. I usually don't yell or argue with the referees unless the call is unclear and I need a description of what they saw. I have a 2.3 as of now, but I have stacked several classes up to where my GPA will get higher after this year. I am planning on taking the ACT which I haven't taken but the practice one I took I scored a 21. I understand academics come first and these past years I have been working harder on them. At the end of last year I told myself that I wanted to make the academic team my senior year and I am striving to do that. So far this year our high school team is 2-1-2, I was out for two games due to a concussion but luckily I bounced back faster than expected. During the time I was out we lost one game and tied another. While I was on the sideline I was still very vocal and doing my best to tell people where to mark. Whenever we lose a game I always put that loss on my shoulders since im the last man on defense. When we go to watch game film as a team I am always trying to point out things that I, and the team need to work on to achieve our goals.
