As a high school freshman, I am just beginning my high school journey. As a middle school student, academics were very important to me. I have been recognized as a Granville County Student of Merit for maintaining a 90% average or greater in 6th, 7th and 8th Grade. I was also selected into the National Junior Honor Society for 7th and 8th Grade. Currently, I am enrolled in the STEM program at Granville Central High School and would like to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering in college.
I was on the Butner-Stem Track team during 8th grade competing in the 100m, 200m and 4x200m relay. I placed 3rd in the 100m 2017 MAC10 Conference meet. I was selected for the Track Leadership Award at the BSMS Athletic Awards Ceremony. I competed in AAU Track & Field with the Carolina Roadrunners in the 400m and 800m in 2017. I qualified and went on to compete in the 400m and 800m at the 2017 AAU Junior Olympics in Ypsilanti, MI. I plan to run track for Granville Central High School and will compete in the Winter In-door and Spring seasons. I plan to run USATF/AAU Track for Bull City Express next summer.
At Butner-Stem Middle School, I was a Co-Captain for both my 7th and 8th grade soccer seasons. In 8th grade, we finished the 2016 season, 10-2 and 2nd in the MAC10 Conference. I was a starter both seasons and played Center Back. I was recognized as Best Defender for the 2016 season at the BSMS Athletic Awards Ceremony. Currently I am a starter on the Granville Central JV Soccer team and play Center Back. I feel that playing soccer helps me with my endurance and overall conditioning.
When I am not playing sports, I enjoy playing guitar and learning new songs. I play acoustic & electric guitar and ukulele.
I look forward to competing these next four years and would love to have the opportunity to run track in college. My commitment to academics, as well as out on the track would make me an excellent student athlete at the college level.
