First and foremost, my main goal in college is to earn a college degree. Completing a college program will provide me with opportunities to better myself and help ensure my future. My second goal for college is to play soccer at the highest level possible. I want to reach my fullest potential in the game. I love to play. I want to continue learning and growing as a soccer player. I will be very fortunate to do something I love after high school. I would never take this opportunity for granted and I will give my team, coaches and college 110% of my efforts all the time.
I would fit well on any team and at any college because of how unique and different I am from others. For example, challenges are often things that people fear. I, on the other hand, welcome challenges. I would rather give it my all and fail, than not try at all. Perseverance is a quality that I have and I am proud to have. I believe that this is something that I demonstrate both on and off the field. Whether I am in the goal or on the field as a striker, I feel that I am a leader on the soccer field. My teammates tend to look to me for guidance, and motivation. I am a powerful influence during the game. My abilities to read the game and control my team from the goal are key factors for the success of our team.
I believe my level of leadership comes from the idea that I have always felt that I am a friend to everyone I meet. I go out of my way to help others, which is one thing I take pride in doing. I love helping others and feel I am very capable of making a difference in the community. The past few years I have volunteered in the community. There are a series of Coerver camps held at the Sportsplex in Halfmoon. I worked with both field players and goalkeepers at the U8 – U12 age groups. I enjoyed teaching and sharing the skills I have learned with my training and experience to others who are just starting out or trying to improve their skills. I treat this opportunity as a learning experience for myself as well as for the younger players. My friendliness and leadership was recognized by my teachers in 9th grade when I was awarded the “Spirit of the West” award. This award was given to one 9th grade boy who exemplifies outstanding school spirit through participation in class and building activities, as well as his friendliness to his peers and is always a friend to anyone who needs on.
I feel that I would be an asset to any team. I will put my best effort forward every time that I step on the field. I will continue to guide and encourage others, which will help my game as well. My ability to lead others will help me obtain my goals of being a successful student and athlete.
