Hi, my name is McKenna Hunter. In my freshman year of soccer, I was cut from my school's JV team. From that day on, I realized that I would make sure I never felt that disappointment again from a game I love. I returned to the modified team and was named team captain by the coach. I became completely dedicated to improving my technical and tactical knowledge of soccer. I make time twice a day for an hour and a half or more to improve my game. I realized how much I love the game and began working so I would be able to play in college. I began lifting weights and am now 6' 3 and weigh 140 lbs.
The following year, my work paid off; I returned to tryouts to find out that I had the strongest technical skills on the team and would continue to work to develop my soccer IQ. I made the team and became one of our team's starting center strikers in a 3-4-4 system. I ended up with a total of 14 goals and 14 assists for 42 points in 16 games on the season. I was later notified that I had led the entire CVAC league in points that year.
But I'm not a striker. I play center fullback for my travel Premier team, coached by the Plattsburgh State University's Men's Soccer Coaches, where I have remained on my travel team for three years. For varsity, I returned to the center midfield and found myself commanding the field. I may not have been recognized completely because of a lack of points, but I made myself noticed when I repeatedly "shut down" the leagues top scorers with a superb defending ability that my travel experience allowed me to hone.
I am open to a wide variety of schools with a top quality education being my number one priority. Location is not a problem as I love to travel, but I also would not mind being close to home. I hope to double major in mathematics and political science while being an active student in a pre-proffessional law program before taking my LSAT's and continuing to work towards the career goal of a corporate lawyer or sports agent. I value and strive to be an athlete like Aaron Craft or Mia Hamm, always striving to become the best both on and off the field. Like Mia Hamm says, "I've worked too hard and too long to let anything stand in the way of my goals. I will not let my teammates down and I will not let myself down."
