Personal Statement
My name is Thomas McCarthy, and I've been playing soccer since I was four years old. I am extremely dedicated to soccer and hope to continue to play long after I graduate from high school. I was previously home-schooled for six years before starting my freshman year at Saint Pius X High School in New Mexico. I'm very dedicated academically and want to pursue a career in business administration or sports management.
I started my career playing mostly forward/wing and then moved to a right-wing-back role, before becoming the starting goalkeeper for the SPX JV.
I still play other positions for my club team, but I'm wanting to take my goalkeeping to the next level. My goal is to win 5A state before I graduate. No matter what role you need filled on your team, I will do whatever it takes to fill that position.
I want to eventually graduate university with my masters degree in business administration. My other interests include music, philosophy, computer science, statistics, and swimming.
