Personal Statement

I began playing soccer and baseball at the age of 5. After a few years of playing both sports, my parents told me that I had to chose and play just one. I immediately knew that I wanted to play soccer. As I have grown and continued playing this great sport, I have also taken a great interest in watching it at all levels. In watching collegiate players I have developed a deep desire to continue my playing on at that level. I am continually motivated to become the best athlete that I can be and in playing soccer I have found that my motivation comes from a long time connection to the sport and a desire to continually be the best athlete that I can be. Through soccer I have learned that when I put my mind to something, I can do anything. For example, for many years my ability to strike and run quickly dictated that I played in the position of forward despite my desire to play keeper. However even when my coaches wouldn't put in me in goal, I still worked hard practicing and studying the goalkeeper position by taking keeper lessons for two years so that I would be ready the first time they gave me the chance.

In high school and in college my academic goals are both the same - to pursue excellence. While I have not yet met my academic goals in high school I have set the bar higher and I am in hopes of one day being acknowledged for both areas. I hope to bring my leadership skills to each of my teams each season. As a keeper I possess the unique characteristic of working with all of my players to assist them in controlling the field. My duty is to motivate and encourage them all while directing certain situations.

I envision my college years to be one of great growth, both personally and with my team. My goal is to not only gain my education, but to contribute to my college both through academics and sports. On the field I plan on being a dynamic player and a positive influence on the team. I will strive to be an asset at all times. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
