I started playing soccer right after the 2014 World Cup, that means that I have only been playing for about three years. One might argue that a soccer player, let alone one from Turkish and European decent, cannot be produced in such a short period of time, I am living contradiction. Hard work is a funny thing, you don't notice any immediate results right after a hard workout or a tedious training session, you only really notice it when you look back at where you came from. Three years ago, I vividly remember asking one of my friends, "How do you kick the ball so it flies in the air, I can't even get if off the ground." Now, my friends ask me how I scored a goal in five seconds as a freshmen, setting an unofficial record at my school. It is often said that a player's development period closes after the age of 12, but I am 15 and mine has just begun. Like Michael Phelps said, "It's not how you start, it's how you finish."
