John Caracappa '17 Recruiting Profile

My  goal is to attend a quality university where I can further my education which will enable me to become successful in life.  I would like a school with a strong academics and an environment of students with positive influences. Soccer is my driving force and it has developed me as a player on the field as well as in my life off the field.  I represent myself and my team as a person of character, responsibility and respect for others.  I lead my team with my soccer IQ, versatility, hustle and winning mentality.  

My primary position has been an attacking and holding center mid, but I also play outside mid & back. I am a very versatile and athletic player which gives me the opportunity to play many positions.  I utilize my right and left foot dominantly, even though I am right footed.   This allows me to cross and spray my passes using both feet.  I am very comfortable with the ball at my foot and feel my first touch is great regardless if I receive hard, soft or a bouncing pass. My coaches have always applauded my accurate passes, first touch and vision to see to make a good pass that others do not see.  My corner or free kicks are also very accurate which has allowed me to assist or score many goals off these opportunities for my team.

I’m also a strong defender who knows how to contain, make strong square tackle or stealing passes. As an outside defender I look to keep the ball as opposed to just clearing it out. I get involved in the attack , dribble up the wing and properly defend 1v1.

My dream is to attend a great college, obtain lifelong friends and make an impact on the soccer field.  My promise is that I will be committed academically and as a team player.  I will bring a positive winning attitude to every practice and game!
