Vincent Ceglia '23 Recruiting Profile

    I am a 5'8' 140 pound high school sophomore, from Union Township, New Jersey, who plays outside midfield, center midfield, winger and outside back.  I am a technically and tactically gifted player whose versatility and vision allows me to contribute and succeed wherever I am asked to play.  I prefer to play in the wide areas where I can use my vision, creativity and technical abilities to create offensive opportunities for my team and myself, but am willing to play wherever I am needed.

    My coaches have told me that my confidence and poise on the ball brings a calming effect to game, the players around me and helps the team maintain its focus on possession and smart play.  I pride myself on making the right decisions on the ball, delivering crisp timely passes and not engaging in panic or nervous play under pressure.  To me, leading by example is the best way for me to help my team and that is what I always try to do.

    I am looking for a selective school that will challenge me both academically and athletically.  I am a top notch student who achieved a 4.05 GPA in my Freshman year, while playing both club and school soccer.  I also enjoy refereeing and teaching soccer to younger kids and have volunteered my time in local community recreation programs.  Finding a school where I have the opportunity to earn scholarships for academics and possibly athletics is very important to me.
