I first became interested in soccer in the 4th grade when I tried it out at a summer camp, and had an amazing coach. This coach, Colin, showed me how to balance a commitment to hard work and a passion for the game. While learning the basics of technique I came to love every minute that I spent out on the field, and found joy in a sport like I never had before. In the coming years, I took soccer more seriously and constantly worked to improve my skills so that I could get myself onto a great club team.
My most important athletic goal for high school is to continue to become a more versatile player and supplement the skills and confidence that I’ve worked to build with strength and power in order to take my game to the next level. Academically, I want to continue achieving straight A’s and take as many AP courses as possible while trying to determine what I want to study in college. I am looking to be able to become a key contributor by junior or senior year in college, while I further myself academically by earning a degree in my chosen field. Recently, I have worked especially hard to keep improving my technique by attending extra practices with older and younger age group teams inside of my club. Also, I have focused on achieving my goal to become a more versatile player by moving to outside back and being capable of playing left back, and left, right, and holding midfield. My current and previous coaches have described me as coachable and committed to putting in extra time in order to get better. I believe that my attention to detail and work ethic on and off the field makes me a strong candidate in the class of 2021.
