Dominic Zappala '20 Recruiting Profile

Being selected as a starter on the high school during my freshman year was a highlight of my high school soccer career, so far.  I do however; feel like this past year has been the most rewarding.  This past season our team “lost” seven seniors and we figured our team would be in a rebuild mode.  We spent a lot of time practicing and this is where I took the opportunity to work with newer and less experienced team members.  This helped in building trust and comradery with the team.  We ended our season in 2^nd place, but we held an undefeated team to a penalty kick.  While not the outcome we wanted, we did work well as a team and we will be stronger next season.

I believe this experience has helped me grow as a person and focus my efforts in being a solid wing/striker.  I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, being a leader and example to our team members.  I’m interested in a college program that will be a good fit for me athletically, but also academically.  I have outstanding work-ethic, character and leadership skills.
