Personal Statement

My goals for college are to play soccer and earn a degree. My current career path right now is Sports Management. I would like to be involved with activities in the community and the school to continue to grow as a person. What makes me a good candidate for your school is that I am a team player and make sacrifices. In specific, I would sacrifice personal achievements for team success. For example, if there was a 2 on 1 against the keeper I would pass it off so my teammate could score instead of taking all the glory. I'm a well rounded player that knows all facets of the game. I can play defense, mid-field, and forward. My specialty and my favorite, however, is forward. On the athletic side I am always working to get an edge over my opponent. I will do whatever is required of me and more. Win or lose I am always trying to find ways to improve my game and will give it my all when playing or supporting my teammates. I am different from other candidates because I am an outgoing person who tries to see the positives in life. I come from a family with good morals and values. For academics I am always listening and learning to try and improve my grades. I work even harder in school than i do in soccer. Soccer helps me out for academics because I can use that teamwork to work on group projects. I have that drive and hunger to play at the next level. I am always looking for new things to learn and train for. If need be I can provide that leadership role. My parents always taught me its better to be a leader than a follower. I can effectively use both of my feet on the pitch. I am very humble and respectful. I am also helpful, for example, this one year on Easter my neighbors asked me if I could dress up and act as the Easter bunny for their kids. I am very persistent. For example, I kept practicing the "around the world" juggling skill and was finally able to accomplish it.

Mental Abilities - 89 Competitiveness - Showed a strong desire to win and seems to enjoy the competition. Keep working hard! Coachable - Responds well to coaching. Asked good questions and seemed to enjoy the learning process. Coach Comments Josh was a pleasure to work with at camp. He was coachable and responded well to feedback about how to improve his game. Josh's speed and technical ability stand out. He was able to control the ball quickly despite pressure from several defenders and make accurate passes to teammates in open space. He also reads the game well and finds himself in dangerous positions in front of goal. Josh's ability to attack crosses using his head makes him a dynamic forward that can score goals in multiple ways.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
