Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Carlos Guzman and I would love to play for your team. I want to attend a four-year college/university and earn a degree. I am hoping to play at the highest level of college possible. Soccer has always been a part if my life since the age of 8 years old. My dream has always been to play in college. I would make a good candidate for your team because I am dedicated to this sport and I bring a sort of positive energy to the team. I do not like to lose and I will do everything and anything to make sure we come out with the victory. I have played soccer for various teams, being on a club team, elementary school team, and now high school team. I have been playing at the varsity level of play since my freshman year and can definitely make an impact to the team.

  • We played in the U17 Gold division. We lost the first game 2-0 to a highly ranked team from Texas after dominating most of the game. Second game we beat a highly respected team from Monterrey, Mexico, Prepa Tec Monterrey in penalties after we tied 1-1. We were going on to play Silver Semi-Finals but because of a lot of raining and bad weather, the tournament had to be cancelled. We had a good chance of being Champions in the silver bracket against respective teams such as Gallos Blancos Academias from Mexico. We had a very good tournament and outplayed the teams we faced but our finishing needed to be better. If you need further info about tournament, go to Coparayados.com, click on schedules and scores, select the U17 Gold division, and look for FC Athletico Fuerzas Basicas 98/99.
  • Camp/Event
  • NCSAA Soccer Championships
  • 10/23/14 to 10/24/14
  • I attend a church with a rigorous athletic program within it, including a soccer team. We traveled all the way to Pennsylvania to play in Christian High School soccer nationals where we went on to win the championship versus a team from New York. Very intense championship game where we went into overtime after being tied 3-3 and won in penalties. I finished the tournament with two goals throughout the tournament.
