Personal Statement

I'm passionate about the game of soccer and have used it to guide me not only athletically but academically as well.  Soccer has taught me the benefits of discipline and hard work.  I was recently elected captain for the 2016 season and more importantly I was awarded the Preston Hirten Award, which is given to the player who demonstrates leadership on and off the field.  Preston was a player from my high school who died tragically on the field during practice for his college team.  I am humbled to wear Preston's number and to carry on his tradition of excellence.
