Personal Statement

I am a hard working, diligent guy. My goal in life is to do what i enjoy everyday. I grew up in Ukraine, a new not so advanced country, and I have seen how hard people have to work to just pass by everyday. In life i cherish all the little things that make each day special and a small object called a soccer ball I've become to cherish the most. Valuing the little things gives me aspiration to improve and succeed in athletics, academics, and life as a whole. I've learned to focus in school and transform to learn a whole new language to me and strive to reach the top AP classes i attend now. I have a positive character, and disciplined character to work hard in order to be among the best. This goes for sports also. I started playing soccer at 10 and was behind most of my peers, but i was a good athlete and with hours of work with a ball i combined skill to the athleticism. This makes me a versatile player, and most my coaches have trust in me and rely on me to play numerous positions with success. I believe that is what makes me a good candidate. My determined and passionate character for the game, my high athletic ability, and superior work in the classroom.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsNational Honor Society
  • ActivitiesBeside soccer, my passion and proudness goes to dancing. Yet I do Ukrainian national dancing. I’ve danced for over 7 years, starting in a local group called Kalynonka, just last year was called up to dance for a professional group called Yunist in New York City. Also I help out in the community and an even worldwide affairs through an organization called CYM, a Ukrainian Youth Organization. It is similar to boy scouts, but has a big political and volunteer mean to it. Main goal is to preserve Ukrainian culture within the youth of Ukrainians in America. We give back to America for the opportunities it has created for all immigrants, organize public events, food and cloth drives, write letters to soldiers and send out valentine grams to them. Being a Ukrainian organization, we are heavily focused in the situation in Ukraine that seems to be a hidden start to World War III. We send out supplies and cost support to the brave volunteer army that’s standing up for their nation. Not only do we raise awareness for Ukrainian problems, but as well for other nations. Beside that I volunteer at as counselor at summer camps, volunteer to help out with Unified Sports here in Stamford High School. Also am an active member of the Cancer awareness club at Stamford high.
