There's something about playing soccer that makes me feel like I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be. I love the beauty of the game as much as the battle we have to fight to take home the win. I get just as pumped when a teammate makes a great play as I am proud when I punch out or smother a ball the opponent thought was going in. When I'm on the field, playing soccer, I am home.
It's probably strange to say (at a young age), that I feel lucky to have played soccer for as long as I have, but it's true. For many players, the last game in high school is the last competitive soccer game they play. So, I appreciate each new opportunity to continue to play the sport I love. If possible, I would want to play for a two year college program and then transition to a four year university. To play at the collegiate level is an incredible opportunity, and that is plenty to hope for at this stage in my life.
Loving what you do and appreciating what you have, makes it easy to leave it all on the field. I'm a very physical player and regardless of the size of the opponent, I won't back down when there's an attack on the goal. I'm protective of my teammates and my box, and I'll defend both without question. Some opponents will do and say things to get in your head and take you out of the game, but my focus is on winning and that makes them easy to ignore. In the end, I'm there for my team, and anything that takes away from our goal, isn't worth the distraction.
