Ever since I can remember, soccer has played a major part in my life. I have long had the dream of playing college soccer and I'm driven to take my game to the highest level I can achieve.
Being able to play soccer in college would be an amazing opportunity to reach my dreams in the soccer field, and place me one step closer to achieving my dreams later on in life. When talking about my abilities on the soccer field, I first want to say that I aim to be the hardest working player. I can play in the defense’s four positions and four mid-field positions, but my preferred position is Center Midfielder. In my role as a center midfielder, when I'm off the ball, I'm always supporting my teammates by checking in towards them; I make runs to either receive the ball or open up the space for my teammates. I try to earn their respect and this is reflected in my Club team voting me Captain.
I have challenged myself to approach my classroom work with the same commitment that I do playing soccer. I am currently completing the International Baccalaureate Program and I’m enrolled primarily in A/P and IB classes. This program has taught me to manage my time and be more focused. I don’t take short cuts and I strive to deliver my best effort.
Outside of school I am the Co-Vice President of the TOP Soccer club. This program allows me to work with special needs children and adults. We help them improve their soccer skills and become successful in the sport. It has been an opportunity to learn from many exceptional kids. It's quickly pointed out to how much can be achieved, when approaching a goal with determination. Seeing these kids overcome challenges makes me push even harder towards my goals. It also reminds me how fulfilling it is to contribute to helping others to reach their goals.
I am looking forward to my college experience. Being able to play soccer in college would vastly enrich that experience. My career goal is to study Sports Medicine. I am interested in this field because it will prepare me to promote health through staying physically active and living a healthy lifestyle. I am ready to challenge and drive myself both in the classroom and on the soccer field. I intend to meet all opportunities that I am given with maximum personal effort and dedication.
