Luis Perez '16 Recruiting Profile

I want to pursue a post-secondary education at a college or university where I will be capable of pursuing my academic interests in order to ultimately pursue my intended field of interest, Mechanical Engineering. I take a strong emphasis to my academics which implies that I want to take the best out of a college or university and implement it into my knowledge and future aspirations. Along with academics, my passion, determination, and focus for soccer has led me to become undoubtedly passionate, determined, and focused on pursuing a postsecondary education where I will be able to play collegiate soccer. I am currently a senior at Rio Mesa High School and over the past 3 years I have developed and continue to develop skills that will define my advancement to the next level. From my determination and passion for academics to showing citizenship and humanitarian aid throughout all my volunteer work around the community, academics and developing skills to be that well-rounded person is my goal for success. Soccer has been a critical thing throughout my life due to my development of leadership, competitiveness, teamwork, desire, grit, and motivation through soccer. With these skills, soccer has been able to truly establish a basis for my success on and off the field. Soccer has taught me to aim high in anything I do. That is why this summer I was accepted into a Summer College Academy at Stanford! My capability of adapting to any circumstance on the field and having a wide-ranging thought process has led me to be a successful player and person on and off the field. Overall, as I start off my senior year, I am determined to give a final stretch to finally take that next step in life, becoming a collegiate student-athlete. I will be capable of demonstrating hard work, determination, and concentration on and off the field because I am always mindful and respectful to learn, develop, and ultimately contribute. Coming into this final year of Varsity Soccer, I find myself taking leadership as captain in addition to a mindset that is ready to give a final stretch for development. Skills that I possess for the game of soccer are speed, intelligence, distribution, intensity, determination, and hustle. What makes me different from other players at the end of the day is my distinctiveness for perseverance whether on or off the field. It is about making the best and smartest decisions and being capable of following up on them to establish an overall well-rounded person.
