I have been involved in athletics my entire life, playing soccer, football, baseball, basketball and participating in cross country and track. My two favorite sports are the ones I am currently playing, soccer and baseball. I joined the soccer team in junior high and started playing keeper just because there was no one else who played keeper and I always wanted to try and see what it was like. I go to a small school so at the end of the soccer season my 8th grade year, the high school soccer coach asked if I would like to practice with the high school team because the current keeper was graduating so I would be the starting keeper as a freshman. Getting to practice with the high school team was a great experience, and made me aware of what I was in for as a high school keeper. Unfortunately, being a small school we do not have the strongest soccer team, but the plus is that I get a lot of action in every game we play. It was at the end of my freshman soccer season I told my mom that I wanted to play soccer in college.
I have excellent reflexes, am strong, focused, and do not like it when a ball gets by me. I enjoy being coached because any feedback and information I can receive about my skills and my performance only makes me better. I am also willing to step up and lead the team, whether it is through encouragement or just leading by example. While I love to win, I do believe it is important to win and lose with a good attitude and try to be an good example whether my team wins or loses.
I am an excellent student and enjoy learning as well as the social interaction that happens during the day. I want to attend a college where I can be challenged academically and as an athlete. I honestly don't know what type of college would be the best fit for me, but am interested in exploring all of my options.
