Hello, my name is Juan Torres Jr. My goal is to play soccer and receive a great education in college. I am a hard worker on the field and in the classroom, getting a 4.0 Overall Weighted GPA with honors and AP courses. I wish to major in Engineering, I am not sure specifically in which field of engineering I want to pursue. As an athlete, I am a powerful yet agile player who is comfortable with both feet. Although I can play every position (except Goalie), I prefer Center Attacking Mid and Center Forward. My strengths are good vision for quick penetrating passes, winning 50/50 balls, controlling the tempo of the game, shielding the ball, playing with my back facing the goal, and finishing or shooting with both feet. I am able to take Free Kicks and Corner Kicks and I am good in the air to win headers. I have the ability to change pace from a slow passing/possession game to a quick burst of attack. I run a "5.1" 40 yard dash and an "11" 100 meter dash. My coaches rely on me to be a leader and to organize our team and that is what I strive to do. I verbally organize my team offensively and defensively and take the role of being a captain on and off the field. I have been playing soccer for 13 years now (7 years competitively) and I don't plan on stopping after High School. Receiving a scholarship for soccer would be a blessing because it has been my ambition ever since I started playing travel soccer. I would truly be grateful for the opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level and I would not be a disappointment. I'll work hard and prove myself to both the coaching staff and my teammates. And I am willing to do anything the coaches ask of me if it means what's best for the team and self-improvement. Soccer has always been my passion, and I hope to make an impact on a collegiate team.
