McKenzie Shubert '14 Recruiting Profile

I am a tremendously competitive person and I enjoy working extremely hard on the field. Soccer is my passion and I live, eat and breathe the sport. I especially love the team aspect of soccer - moving the ball from player to player and working together to achieve our goals.I have come a long way as a student. When I was young I had a difficult time focusing and sitting still. During the past three years I have discovered that I am actually capable of getting A's and I find myself wanting to do my very best academically. I really enjoy succeeding both on the field and in the classroom now.

I am a very dedicated student/athlete who has learned what it takes to be the best in both soccer and academics. Since I was 6 years old, I have played club soccer playing my way up from Bronze through Premier, the highest level  in club soccer. I practice over 13 hours a week/498 hours a year.  In my journey to become a collegiate and professional soccer player, I will continue to be passionate not only about soccer but about studies as well because learning and doing well in school will be my key to success.
