Hello! My name is Liam Schmitt-Guce. I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old while my family lived in England. I played there for 2 years and have been playing ever since. I fell in love with soccer in England and it has slowly become more and more a part of my life. My short term goals are to play varsity soccer in high school and continue playing soccer through college where I can improve academically and athletically. My current position on my club soccer team is a forward but I have played every position because I’ve had the good fortune of playing for coaches who wanted to expand my experience beyond just one position. For my high school soccer team I play midfield where I distribute to my teammates and also get scoring opportunities. My stronger and favorite positions are forward and midfield but I am willing to play any position that would benefit my team and coach. I always strive to give my best effort during practices and games. I help pull my team together through encouragement, supportive actions and communication. I welcome criticism and feedback from my coaches and peers so I can identify and focus on the skills I need to improve.
I’m currently a Sophomore in Cienega High School in Tucson, Arizona. I maintain a higher than 4.0 cumulative weighted GPA and achieved a High Honor Roll (above 4.0 GPA) recognition for every semester of high school. I took the PSAT in October 2017 and scored an 1100 but intend to work harder to achieve a higher score in the future. I’ve completed several Honors classes, such as Physics, Geometry, and Economics, and currently take two Honors classes, Biology and Algebra 2. I also take AP classes every school year; World History as a Freshman and Human Geography in Sophomore year.
I have other interests such as Choir and Theater. I enjoy entertaining and making people happy. I’m a member of my Catholic Church Youth Group that often performs community work and charitable activities in for my parish and community. I have many ambitions. One is to play soccer in College and even beyond. I also would like to study and improve my entertaining skills possibly as a minor in Theater Arts. I’m not set on a current major yet and I’m trying to figure out what I’d enjoy studying.
