Coaches,
I am a hard-working person and lacrosse player. I demand much from myself and strive to be the best that I can be. Although I love to have fun, I am a serious student and athlete. I am organized and passionate, and have never received less than an A (final grade) in any class that I have ever taken. I love math and science, and desire to go to a great academic school that also has a strong lacrosse reputation. I love the two-way lacrosse players out there such as Zach Currier at Princeton. He does it all, and I would like to be that kind of player. I also love the versatility of Deemer Class, and his passion for the game.
My father was my coach in our youth program, and he taught me to keep my cool. I know that as a strong player, other great players are going to try to get into my head and take me off of my game. This has taught me mental toughness, and the rougher the game gets, the more I focus on keeping my composure and keeping the goal of victory in mind.
I hope to find a great academic institution with a tough coach who demands the most of us. Coaches are like father figures to me, and finding a role model, lifetime friend and mentor is very important. Lacrosse is my life right now, but someday I will have a job and family, and the lessons that I am learning today will make me a better man, father and husband throughout my life.
I am proud of the fact that I have developed both hands from an early age. Most teams don't know which side to overplay on me, as I am ambidextrous and can play with either hand well. My right is stronger (shot speed) but my left is more accurate. I love to shut down the other team's best player, and then win ground balls in transition to lead my team. I can play either midfield or attack, and my coaches are constantly changing their mind about which position I should play. My high school plays me at midfield, but my club coach moves me around based upon the needs of the team. My passion is leading the offense from the top, but I will do whatever is best for the team and I have the skill set to help at attack if necessary.
As a leader, I am a fun-loving person. I crack jokes, and try to blend personalities together so as to create great team chemistry. My teams often win not because we have the best 15 individual players, but because we play the best together and understand one another.
I hope you consider me for inclusion on your great teams. I won't let you down.
